Biographical Note for Hatcher, Charles : Charles Hatcher was born around 1787 in Caswell County, North Carolina. He married twice; once in 1810 or 1811, and the second time on December 4, 1821 to Anna Elizabeth Trabue in Chesterfield, Virginia. Hatcher moved to Norfolk, Virginia around 1823. He was a businessman and merchant involved in domestic slave trade; he traveled back and forth frequently between Norfolk, Virginia and New Orleans, Louisiana. Hatcher died from yellow fever in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 21, 1842.
