Brief Description: Primarily nineteenth century correspondence, legal documents, memorandums, photographs, and miscellaneous papers from the Allmand Family of Norfolk, Virginia. Also includes three 1828-1843 ledger books of John Allmand, one 1837-1840 letter book of John Allmand, and one book of religious interpretation, likely written by Reverend John Singer Wallace. This collection also includes legal documents from the Estate of William Keeling and the Stone family.

Biographical Note for Archer, Caroline Vernon (1879-1973) : Caroline "Carrie" Vernon Archer was born on October 14, 1879 in Virginia. She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Archer was associated with Norfolk Public Library and the King's Daughters Children's Hospital. She died on October 12, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
