Biographical Note for American Legion. Dalton-Cartier Post No. 204 (Norfolk, Va.) : American Legion Post 204 in Norfolk, Virginia was named in honor of Jacques J. Cartier and Joseph B. Dalton, Sr. The post was originally named for Cartier, but also recognizes Dalton for his gift of land and the building for the post. Post 204 is also known as "The Fox Hole" and the "Friendly Family Post." Dalton-Cartier Post 204, Inc. was created as a service organization to promote the moral, social, and educational welfare of both its own members and others.
