Photographs depict horse-drawn carriages, owners with their dogs, camping tents, houses, railroads, railroad workers, and coal miners. Geographic locations identified include Winding Gulf, West Virginia; Soak Creek, West Virginia; and Aspen, Virginia. Railways captioned include the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway and the Virginian Railway. One tent is labeled "No. 2 Palace" and one photograph identifies the Gulf Smokeless Coal Company.
