Brief Description: This collection contains 10 yearbooks from the Woman’s Club of Norfolk from 1925-1927 and 1940-1954 and two yearbooks from the Junior Woman’s Club of Norfolk from 1948-1950. Included are three annual reports for 1922-1924 and two copies of the club's biennial report for 1927-1928 and 1929-1930. The collection also includes a souvenir program booklet for round table events sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Norfolk and overseen by the organization’s department of literature chairman, Mrs. F. R. Barrett, from 1931-1932.

Biographical Note for Woman's Club of Norfolk (1905-) : The Woman’s Club of Norfolk was founded on November 9, 1905 by Virginia Duncan Gatewood in the assembly hall of the Atlantic Hotel in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The first of its kind in the area, the organization held its first annual meeting on February 13, 1906. From December 1905 to October 1910, the club operated out of 380 Freemason Street, eventually moving to 163 West Freemason Street and later 612 Colonial Avenue. By 1925, the organization had moved its headquarters to 524 Fairfax Avenue where it still currently operates.
