Biographical Note for Old, Richard A. (1873-1956) : Richard Ames Old was born on January 13, 1873 in Nansemond County, Virginia. He was a wholesale grocer; Old operated R. A. Old & Company at 219 East Water Street in Norfolk, Virginia. He was also Treasurer of The Pocomoke Guano Company, a manufacturer of fertilizers. He married Lila Nell Cole, circa 1910. Old was a member of Larchmont Methodist Church and Ruth Lodge, No. 89, A. F. & A. M. He died on April 24, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
