There are also histories of the organization and a list of contributors who are credited with compiling the collection.

Biographical Note for Tidewater Bicycle Association (1965-2018) : The Tidewater Bicycle Association began in the fall of 1965 under the leadership of Ben Potts as the Tidewater Bicycle Club. The group was incorporated on July 23, 1972 as the Tidewater Bicycle Association. Members participated in races along the East Coast from Florida to Canada. The group's purpose was to promote interest and enthusiasm in bicycles, stage and promote bicycle races and events, and promote and encourage highway safety and courtesy. There were two components to the club: racers and tourists (i.e. non-racers). Tidewater Bicycle Association became a 501c(3) on September 29, 2014. The organization formally dissolved on June 12, 2018 due to declining membership.
