Biographical Note for Bowden, George Edwin (1852-1908) : George Edwin Bowden was born in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1852. He was the collector of customs for the port of Norfolk from 1879 to 1885. Bowden was elected as a Republican in Congress, serving from 1887 to 1891. He served as clerk of the United States Court from 1899 to 1908. He died in Norfolk, Virginia on January 22, 1908.
