Brief Description: Genealogical research, handwritten notes, printed emails, and other photocopied materials relating to the Davis, Ellington, Forrest, Nuttall, Robinson, Sears, and Thomas families in Virginia. Most of the families at one time resided in Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex Counties. Most of the collection dates from 1990-2002, though genealogical correspondence dates as far back as 1965. There is also a circa 1900 photograph of an unidentified man standing in front of a building.

Biographical Note for Goodsell, Mary Jane (1940-2004) : Mary Jane Burton Goodsell was born on November 28, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia. She married Ernest John Booden on June 5, 1965 in Norfolk, Virginia. She married Charles Edward Goodsell on August 25, 1984 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Goodsell was a member of Central Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. She published two books on Mathews County, Virginia marriage and death records in 2000 and 2001 respectively. She died on November 18, 2004 in Chesapeake, Virginia and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
