Biographical Note for The Wednesday Club (1898-) : The Wednesday Club in Norfolk, Virginia organized on November 14, 1898 at the home of Mrs. Luther Sheldon on 262 York Street as The Wednesday Literary Club. This women's group met on Wednesdays and focused on the study of literature, with a new topic selected yearly. The 1902-1903 club program reflects the group's name change to The Wednesday Club.
