Correspondence and notes relating to the Armistead brothers and events surrounding both the War of 1812 and the Second Barbary War.

Biographical Note

Robert Armistead was a midshipman in the United States Navy. He took part in the Second Barbary War, serving on board both the frigate USS Constellation and the sloop USS Erie. Armistead died in Norfolk, Virginia on April 30, 1819.
