Biographical Note

Mary Johnston was born on November 21, 1870 in Buchanan, Virginia. She was a bestselling author, writing several historical fiction novels. Johnston used her fame to advocate for women's rights. She died on May 9, 1936 in Warm Springs, Virginia and was buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.
