One 1818-1830 minute book of the James River Steam Boat Company, consisting of stockholders of the steamboats Richmond and Powhatan. The book records meeting minutes, accounting information, resolutions, and other related activities.
Biographical Note
The James River Steam Boat Company was officially organized on January 16, 1819. The line ran routes along the James River between Norfolk, Richmond, Williamsburg, and City Point in Virginia. The company formally dissolved on January 6, 1830.
