Biographical Note
William Oliver Stevens was born on October 7, 1878 in Rangoon, Burma. He wrote many books on history and the paranormal. Stevens graduated from Yale University with a PhD in 1903. He married Claudia Wilson Miles on June 1, 1904. Stevens was a professor at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland from 1905 to 1924. He was headmaster of the Roger Ascham School in White Plains, New York from 1924 to 1927 and headmaster of Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan from 1927 to 1935. Stevens died on January 15, 1955 in his home at 26 West Ninth Street, New York, New York.
