Scope and Contents of the Materials

Four documents from 1871-1891 relating to Mr. and Mrs. Littleton Waller Tazewell of Norfolk, Virginia. Also include an 1843 oversized document of assurance.

Biographical Note

Littleton Waller Tazewell Bradford was born on July 16, 1848 in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Virginia Military Institute and the University of Virginia. He changed his surname from Bradford to Tazewell to honor his maternal grandfather. On November 6, 1883, Tazewell married Mary Louisa Walke in Norfolk, Virginia. He was on the Norfolk City Council and was involved in Norfolk business and civic life. Tazewell died on July 15, 1918 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
