Scope and Contents of the Materials

One typescript volume containing legal agreements from deed books, minute books, and order books of the City of Norfolk, Virginia, granting rights of way to companies such as Berkley Street Railroad and Railway Company, Norfolk City Railroad Company, Norfolk Street Railroad Company, Norfolk Railway and Light Company, and Norfolk and Portsmouth Traction Company for the purpose of public improvement projects. There are two separate indexes in the front of the volume containing page numbers for the companies as well as the streets and roads. There is a separate set of indexes for the Norfolk County Water Company. Additionally, there is a handwritten list of conveyances to the aforementioned public service corporations.
