Historical Note: Jean Curry Cooke Andrews was born on January 22, 1886 in Norfolk, Virginia. She married Charles James Andrews on April 15, 1915. Andrews was president of the Garden Club of Virginia. She headed the Restoration Committee to restore the University of Virginia gardens to Thomas Jefferson's plans and also helped restore Adam Thoroughgood's house gardens. She died on May 11, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
