Biographical Note for Jones, Walker : Walker W. Jones was born around 1841. He grew up in Campbell County, Virginia and helped his father oversee the family farm. Jones enlisted in the Army of the Confederate States of America on May 16, 1861, and was assigned to Company C of the 11th Virginia Infantry, also known as the Clifton Greys. Jones was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863. He was discharged on July 3, 1863.
