Scope and Contents of the Materials

Two circa 1940 scrapbooks, one on Venetian art and the other on furniture, created by Miriam J. Claud. Includes prints taken from The University Prints, Boston, Massachusetts and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Also includes a 23-page handwritten paper titled "Venetian Art" and a 19-page handwritten paper titled "The Development of Furniture."

Biographical Note

Miriam Eleanor Jones Claud Goode was born on August 30, 1900 in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Joseph G. Claud, Jr. on September 15, 1925 in Richmond, Virginia. She married Gerald Leo Goode on June 5, 1952 in Richmond, Virginia. Goode retired from the Supply Department of Norfolk Naval Air Station. She died on March 13, 1979 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
