Three Virginia-related cookbooks collected by Mary Ferebee Taylor Wood.

Biographical Note

Mary Ferebee Taylor Wood was born on November 7, 1922 and spent most of her life in the West Ghent section of Norfolk, Virginia. After graduating from the Graham School for girls in Norfolk, she attended Richmond Professional Institute, now Virginia Commonwealth University. Because of the death of her father, George Emory Ferebee, she was unable to complete her education and had to return to Norfolk to help support her mother and family. She married John C. R. Taylor, Jr. in 1944 and the family resided at the Ferebee family home in Norfolk. After her husband’s death in 1988 she married Surry Wood. At the time of her death she resided at Harbor’s Edge. She died on May 13, 2015 and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
