Scope and Contents of the Materials
Annual reports and newsletters of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, previously known as The Norfolk Foundation in Norfolk, Virginia. The incomplete set of annual reports range in date from 1963-2019, while the newsletters cover 1992-2019. Additionally, there are two separate reports for The Norfolk Foundation and newsletter issues 33-35 of The Virginia Beach Foundation included in the collection.
Biographical Note
The Hampton Roads Community Foundation began as The Norfolk Foundation in 1950. The organization's mission is "a thriving community with opportunity for all." Its mission is to "make life better in Hampton Roads through leadership, philanthropy, and civic engagement." The Hampton Roads Community Foundation formed in 2010 when The Norfolk Foundation and The Virginia Beach Foundation merged.
