Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection consists of scrapbooks containing genealogical papers, marriage and record licenses, photos, hand-written letters and newspaper articles, birth certificates, newspaper clippings, and sketched portraits of Robert Fristoe Banks (seven volumes), Woodhouse Keeling Martin (three volumes), Robert Bartee (six volumes), Harrison Banks (two volumes), George Thomas Banks ( one volume), John Banks (two volumes), Harrison Hartwell Banks (five volumes), Charles Thomas Banks (six volumes), George Thomas (three volumes), John Banks (four volumes), Smith (two volumes), Willis Etheridge (three volumes), Langley Thelaball Mason (one volume), Gornto (one volume) and Benthall (two volumes). This collection also contains the aforementioned families’ applications to the Huguenot Society of Virginia, First Families of Tennessee, National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and First Families of Virginia 1607-1624/5.
