Biographical Note

Julian Sumner Lawrence was born in Churchland, Virginia on January 31, 1893. He served in World War I, and he was also a lawyer. Lawrence married Mary Dorsey Downey on October 24, 1922 in Portsmouth, Virginia. They had two daughters: Mary and Ann. He died on May 3, 1976 in Norfolk, Virginia.
