Biographical Note
George Edward Higson, Jr. was born in 1918 and grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Maury High School in 1936 and from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1962. His major achievements included developing an apparatus for the telephone that would help those with debilitating arthritis, and also for receiving a U. S. Patent in 1963 for the pressurized telephone cable. George Edward Higson, Jr. died on May 5, 2013.
