Name: Taylor, Robert B. (Robert Barraud), 1774-1834

Historical Note: Robert Barraud Taylor was born in March 1774 in Virginia. In 1793, he graduated from the College of William and Mary where he studied law. He then entered the bar of Virginia and became a lawyer in Norfolk, Virginia. Taylor married Nancy Ritson in 1796. He served as a brigadier general for the state militia in the War of 1812. Taylor was also a member of the Virginia constitutional convention in 1829. He was judge of the Chancery District Court of the first district of Virginia. Taylor died on April 13, 1834 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
