Scope and Contents of the Materials

One 1928-1931 scrapbook containing photographs, clippings, and miscellaneous ephemera relating to Beatrice Wynne's experiences at Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia. The scrapbook includes a table listing 42 names of classmates and friends, which also lists their home addresses, the date transcribed, and a section for quotes or "wise cracks." It also contains memorabilia from the United States Naval Academy and Virginia Military Institute. Wynne's scrapbook features photographs of classmates and friends at Camp Owaisa in Virginia Beach, Virginia in addition to ephemera on the Maury Dramatic Club, Maury's minstrel shows, and social activities of the A. K. P. sorority.

Biographical Note

Elizabeth Beatrice Wynne Patrick was born on June 12, 1912 in Norfolk, Virginia. She married Bower Reynolds Patrick, Jr. on June 15, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia. Patrick was an active member of Freemason Street Baptist Church. She died on October 22, 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
