Scope and Contents of the Materials
Maps, books, booklets, pamphlets, photographs, postcards, souvenir artifacts, newspapers, and other printed ephemera relating to Norfolk, Hampton Roads, and Virginia from the mid-nineteenth to early twenty-first centuries. Most of the materials date from the 1920s to 1970s, although a significant number of items relate to the Jamestown Exposition of 1907. Maps of the southside section of Hampton Roads and memorabilia of Norfolk and the Tidewater area make up a majority of items in the collection.
