Historical Note: The Talbot Park Garden Club first met on February 3, 1941 to discuss resigning from the Crape Myrtle Garden Club, citing the large number of members making it unfeasible for many ladies to host the club in their homes. The group officially formed on February 11, 1941 with 34 members present. The club's objective was "to stimulate and encourage the knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs."
