Meadowbrook Forest Garden Club (1955-2006) | Sargeant Memorial Collection
Name: Meadowbrook Forest Garden Club (1955-2006)
Historical Note: The Meadowbrook Forest Garden Club was organized on December 6, 1955. Its objective was "to promote the love of gardening among amateurs, and by mutual helpfulness to beautify our individual gardens, and to encourage civic planting and beautification." Membership was limited to Meadowbrook Forest and Hunt Club Point neighborhoods, and later Meadowbrook Terrace. The club flower was the rose and the club shrub was the camellia. The club motto was, " Let us show appreciation unto God by striving to make more beautiful that which he has given us." The club dissolved in August 2006 due to declining membership.
