Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Phelps and Temple Families Bibles include 19th century genealogical information for the families of John A. Phelps of Bertie County, North Carolina and Armwell L. Temple of Pasquotank County, North Carolina. The Phelps Family Bible was originally published in 1829, while the Temple Family Bible was originally published in 1840.
Biographical Note
John A. Phelps was born on October 12, 1810 or 1812 in Bertie County, North Carolina. He was a farmer. Phelps died on September 19, 1879 and was buried at Cashie Baptist Church Cemetery in Windsor, North Carolina.
