Scope and Contents of the Materials
Four 1933-1951 personal scrapbooks created by Eula Thomas of Norfolk, Virginia. The scrapbooks include clippings on local, state, and international news as well as personal ephemera such as birthday cards, invitations, and correspondence.
Biographical Note
Eula Nicholson Wallace Thomas was a native of Pinetown, North Carolina. She was born on February 8, 1897 and married Emmett Morris Thomas on December 31, 1938 in Richmond, Virginia. Thomas worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Thomas Marine Railway Company. She also worked at C&P Telephone in Newport News, Virginia. Thomas was a member of Park Place Methodist Church. Additionally, she was a matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 52. Thomas died on October 28, 1962 in Princess Anne County, Virginia and was buried at Riverside Memorial Park in Norfolk, Virginia.
