Scope and Contents of the Materials
One reinspection report on the properties of the City of Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia, submitted in September 1949 by Dobie, Bell & Henderson, Inc. of Norfolk, Virginia. The report includes a table of contents listing city-owned buildings in alphabetical order and their accompanying page numbers. It was created as an addenda to a report submitted in 1938 and lists the present day sound value of the buildings along with any discrepancies from good fire protection practices. There are photographs and fire insurance maps for many of the buildings. Some buildings include Armories, Cemeteries, Courts, Equipment Storage, Farms, Fishermen Houses, Garages, Hospitals, Libraries, Municipal Office Buildings, Museums, Parks, Recreation Centers, Sewage Pumping Stations, and Water Department Dwellings.
