Scope and Contents: One April-June 1918 Norfolk, Virginia scrapbook of clippings and correspondence relating to M. G. Nusbaum's idea to provide state-level facilities for sick and injured returning World War I soldiers and sailors. The scrapbook includes Nusbaum's initial plan written to the Norfolk section of the Association Advertising Clubs of the World. Most of the collection consists of letters from the Executive Offices of 20 different states, acknowledging correspondence Nusbaum sent to each Governor regarding state-level assistance for wounded servicemembers. There are also clippings about Nusbaum announcing his idea at meetings of the Norfolk Ad Club and one clipping crediting Maidie Goodman Nusbaum, M. G. Nusbaum's wife, with the idea.
