Historical Note: Lena Rigby Woolford was born on July 15, 1882 in Maryland. She served during World War I as a yeoman in the United States Navy and continued to work for the government in subsequent decades. Woolford died on December 7, 1967 in Newport News, Virginia and was buried at Princess Anne Episcopal Cemetery in Princess Anne, Maryland.
