One 1841 letter from Thomas B. West to his future wife, Louisa M. Phillips.

Biographical Note

Thomas Bolling West was born on July 4, 1807 in Virginia. He married Louisa Mildred Phillips on November 23, 1842 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. From at least 1840 to 1860, West was a clerk for the Navy Agent's Office in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1866, he was a clerk for the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal. West died on May 6, 1891 and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
