Scope and Contents of the Materials
One circa 1935-1952 scrapbook of Albert Preston Breeden's travels to conferences for the Shriners and the Municipal Finance Officers' Association and one 1962 scrapbook featuring A. Preston Breeden's retirement from service as City Auditor for the City of Norfolk, Virginia. Scrapbook items include newspaper clippings, photographs, postcards, correspondence, theater programs, and other mementos.
Biographical Note
Albert Preston Breeden was born on March 20, 1897 in Norfolk, Virginia. He served in World War I. Breeden married Harriet Lenz Anshutz in 1920. He worked for the City of Norfolk from 1920 to 1962 and served as City Auditor from 1934 until his retirement. Breeden was a member of Ruth Lodge No. 89. He died on October 12, 1972 in Virginia Beach, Virginia and was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia.
