Historical Note: Ernest Peter Gretes was born on April 8, 1915 in Virginia. He was married to Demetra Semon in 1947. Gretes was owner of the Esquire Club on Sewells Point Road in the 1940s. He was later a realtor. Gretes died on December 1, 1988 in Virginia Beach, Virginia and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
