Vail married Jack Harrell Vail on April 30, 1949 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a member of the Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Garden Club of Norfolk, and Norfolk Society of Arts. Vail died on September 22, 2012 in Norfolk, Virginia and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
