Scope and Contents of the Materials

Clippings scrapbooks of news and advertisements from the Home Federal Savings and Loan Association, primarily from 1957-1971. The collection includes photographs of the main branch and auxiliary branches of Home Federal Savings and Loan Association as well as staff. One of the scrapbooks features an advertisement series called Famous Homes of Virginia, which appeared in local newspapers from June to December 1967. In addition to the scrapbook, there are sketches of the famous homes, metal printing plates, and correspondence to and from the homeowners securing permissions to feature the homes in Norfolk newspapers.
